In 1960, four African American college students sat down at a “whites only” lunch counter. They mean that don’t be mean and let other people sit with you even if you’re breaking the rules. Yes,it’s okay to break the rules because sometimes you have to cover/protect friends or family and just to have fun.

It’s okay to break the rules because sometimes you have to cover/protect friends or family. For example, my family had to cover my dad from the police because my mom was about to have her baby and my dad was driving really fast to the hospital. As well as,in fourth grade I signed my planner because my mom forgot to and I signed so I wouldn’t get in trouble. So don’t be upset for breaking the rules it is okay. Breaking the rules can save people’s life.

It’s okay to break the rules because you want to have fun. To begin with,last year I was talking to my friend and I went over there to where she was she gave me a piece of gum and I was laughing with her. The teacher came back and signed my planner because I wasn’t in my sit. As well as,in second grade we won’t each allowed to chase boys outside and my friends and I did it for fun. Our teacher saw us and got us in trouble.It’s okay to have a little fun and break the rules.

Dear Diary,

Today was the second day at my camp and how I survived bullies, broccoli, and snake hill. “The first thing we did was wake up at 7:00. At 7:30 we had to be at breakfast, and we had half an hour to get dressed, and do whatever we did in the morning”. When I got to the restroom it was crowded in there and guys were brushing their teeth. At exactly 8:00 was the start of summer school, the only problem with summer school was that school was held in a couple of tents on the camp grounds. First period was science, second period was English, third period was social studies, and finally fourth period was math. But school wasn’t over yet, I found out that we had one more period. So every morning from 11:00 to 11:45, everyone at camp, including the teachers, had to sit and do nothing but stare at a book. They called it D.E.A.R, which stands for Drop Everything and Read and it was really boring.”Then from 2:05 to 3:05 every day that it didn’t rain, the boys’ camp got to use the waterfront”. A waterfront was were there was lake and for an hour all you did was swim in the lake. After that we went to eat dinner which was broccoli and I don’t like it. “Finally at exactly 8:00 p.m. we had to go to sleep and that’s how my day ended”.                                                                                                                                                        Talk to you later,                                                                                                                                                                                                            Rafe

The Beach Trip

I will always remember when my friend and I went to Galveston Beach. It was a funnest trip I’ll ever went to because I went with my best best best friend Brooklyn!

This past summer my friend Brooklyn and I went to Galveston Beach. We were so excited to go, that we even started jumping up and down everywhere,and because of that our parents got us in trouble.But we really didn’t care because the most important part was that we were going to Galveston Beach.

So after several hours we finally got there,and we could see the water as blue as the sky. We also heard the waves go Swish! Swish! It was so beautiful that we wish we live there,and we even ask our parents if we could move there but they said,”No.”

After we were done looking at the awesome beach we decided to go swimming,but Brooklyn didn’t want to come,and she told me,”To tell the truth I don’t know how to swim”. I was like well let me think about it then I’ll tell you okay,and Brooklyn said, “Okay”. “I know what we can do I can teach you”,I said. “That will be wonderful”,said Brooklyn,and we started jumping up and down everywhere again!

After about two hours later Brooklyn knew how to swim to already. We were so happy about that Brooklyn could swim but we were so tired that we went to go get an ice cream.After we were done eating ice cream Brooklyn said ”Now we can go swimming.” We both said “YAY”! We were having so much fun,but our parents call us because it was getting dark already.But we didn’t want to live,but we had to.

After all,Brooklyn didn’t know how to swim but me as her best friend taught her how to swim and she said “Thank you very much I will never forget this”,and she had a big smile across her face.That may me so happy for what I’ve done.

Life in 5th grade has been easy to me,expect the three STAAR tests Science,Math,and Reading.The reason why I like 5th grade is because we have learn a lot like going through the American Century with Mr.Mcbride.I have learn a lot this year,that I don’t want to go to Middle School.My favorite part of 5th grade was when we went on our field trip to  Letourneau Universy,because we got to play in the game room it was so much fun,also my other favorite part was when Mrs.Lobue color her hair purple,and got a pie in the face.I’m going to miss 5th grade.

What I learned in the GS project was that when ever your trying to find your own name on the web page you have to put quotes around it so it could show results of your name,not of someone else name cause someone else could have the same name as you.How I felt to teach my classmates what I learned about the GS videos was scary at first but then I thought a minute and I said to myself I can do this.What I also learn about teaching the class things about the GS videos was that you never have to be scared about talking to your classmates just don’t think about being scared and be brave to talk.While working on how to teach the class about quotes my partners were great I love working with them because I have never ever worked with them and they were excellent,when ever I thought of a idea my partners like the ideas I thought about.I love working with them because although we didn’t do a great job they still working hard.I hope to work with them again.
